OLYMPOS - ANTALYA - TURKEY

This ancient city is situated on the southern side of Mt.Tahtalı .Coming by sea or land do not miss the Olympos Valley shaded by oleander and laurel bushes and the refreshing quiet pools of flowing water . The play of light enhances the design of the mosaics in the ancient bath . A mammoth temple gate and a large theatre are of interest , too as are the other walls and towers around the bay from the Middle Ages .
North of Olympos ,up from Çıralı Beach , is Yanartaş ( at a height of 300 m. ) where according to mythology the fire breathing monster the chimarea was slain by the Lycian hero Bellerophon mounted on his winged horse , Pegasus . There is still gas burning from the ground where this monster was supposed to have been slain . Nearby you will see remains from the Byzantines , who considered this a religious area .
Tranquil waters and sandy beaches line the Bay of Çavuş , situated south of Olympos . This bay is yours for an unforgetable experience water skiing on calm waters , of discovering the colourful marine life in waters clear enough to see to the bottom , and exploring the incredible sea caves on the northern shore . The Bay of Çavuş is a fantasy land .
