HALİÇ - GOLDEN HORN

This horn - like shape lies on the European side of İstanbul and is one of the best natural horbors of the world. As such , it was very important during Byzantine and Ottoman times . Today , the bay is surroundded by lovely parks and promenades. Like a fairy tale , you can see the sky - line of the city as the sun sets behind the Golden Horn . The city streets along the banks of the Golden Horn are like an open - air museum of the past . In  Fener , you can see whole streets with houses and churches from Byzantine times. Eyüp is another important district which looks very Ottoman , with its old cemeteries and tombs of holy people . People come here to hope  and pray . From the hills above Eyüp you have a wonderful view of the Golden Horn . Enjoy this view with a cup of coffee in the traditional Pierre Loti Cafe .
Have a nice holiday in İstanbul ........
